Unforgettable Memories at Seerat Clubs Inaugural Session -
Once Upon a Time in Jannat

Wajeeh Farhan

On Saturday, October 5th, 2024, the Seerat Club held its first-ever session at Shafqat Masjid. After Asr prayer, children aged 4-15 were registered and grouped by age, and I had the pleasure of leading the Yellow Group of boys aged 7 and below.

We kicked things off with some ice-breaking activities. I got to know each child’s unique personality—Sulaymaan was energetic and eager, Huzaifa started off shy but opened up beautifully, and Khalid was attentive and thoughtful. Zaid and Hashim were curious, always ready with a question, and each interaction was a joy. I had so much fun getting to know them, sharing stories, and discovering how each boy approached learning in his own way.

Once the ice was broken, we moved on to the main session by Maulana Owais, where we discussed the creation of the universe and the story of Hazrat Adam (AS). The boys were fascinated, with questions pouring in, especially about Shaitan and his role. Essa was completely captivated, Talha listened intently, and Muaz enthusiastically chimed in with thoughts of his own. Mustafa was a quiet observer, while Salman took everything in with a calm focus. Their questions and curiosity made me appreciate how naturally children wonder about their world and faith, and it reminded me of the importance of cultivating this curiosity.

After Maghrib prayer, we took a break with samosas and juice before diving into some physical games led by Munib Bhai. Seeing their joy and energy during the games was contagious—I found myself laughing and cheering right along with them. The clay activity allowed each child to unleash his creativity. Each boy’s personality came through in his clay creation, whether it was a bat, a pizza, or something entirely unique. Working alongside them as they shaped and decorated their clay pots was a highlight for me. It was a wonderful reminder of how each child brings something different to the table and how much I can learn from their fresh perspectives and enthusiasm.

At the end, each child received a duffle bag with worksheets and an activity journal to help them reflect on the session. As Isha prayer approached, we prayed together, and the children went home, already excited for the next session.

This first day at Seerat Club was truly memorable—not just for the kids but for me too. I learned so much from each of them and left with a renewed sense of joy and gratitude for being part of this journey. Their energy, curiosity, and sincerity made the day unforgettable, and I can’t wait to see how they grow in the coming sessions.
